Golda Brown, Al G. Brown and Associates Golda became a partner in the firm of Al G. Brown & Associates in 1985. She joined her brother, David Wm. Brown and father, Al G. Brown, after having been a teacher with a Special Education degree, for the Toronto Board of Education. Al G. Brown & Associates is an independent financial and estate planning firm, which was founded in 1943. Golda’s professional commitment has brought success and she joins her father and brother as a member of the industry’s elite. Golda is a life and qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table, and is also a member of the Top of the Table, as well as a member of the Conference of Advanced Life Underwriters. Golda has spoken to a number of women’s organizations, including Na’amat and Take a Break (women who have left the work force, had children and are now returning to work). She is a past president of PEPDA (Parents Experiencing Peri-natal Death Association) and continues to provide counselling to men and women who have experienced the death of an infant. Golda has appeared on TV Ontario’s award winning series “Saying Goodbye” and has been interviewed on radio on several occasions. Golda has worked with the Jewish Foundation of Toronto in creating legacy gifts in the form of Lion of Judah Endowments, Star of David Endowments and Perpetual Annual Campaign Endowments. Golda, together with Al G. Brown, has served as co-chair of the Insurance Division of United Jewish Appeal; served as a member of the Social Planning Committee of the Jewish Federation of Greater Toronto and chair of Toronto Jewish Congress’ work group for people with disabilities. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Baycrest Centre Foundation; a former member of the Executive Board of Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (C.A.F.E.); a member of the Executive Board of Mekorot Institute of Torah Study for Women; a member of the Advisory Board of Torah in Motion; a former Board member of Camp Moshava and a former member of the Board of Shaarei Shomayim Synagogue. Golda was awarded the PAC Award of Excellence in 2008 together with her brother, David Wm. Brown. Along with her father and brother, Golda is a member of the Star of David Society. She and her husband, Dr. Harry Krakowsky are also acknowledged in the U.J.A. Toronto Book of Life. Golda and Harry have two children, Anna-Rachel and Yonah. |
